During the COVID-19 crisis voluntary workers are making up a critical shortfall in labour, but they still require all the relevant checks to make sure you're compliant.
The Government has made multiple changes to the DBS process to cope with demand and our system has been designed to support all these changes including remote document upload and verification for volunteers.
These are the key checks we support
Work health assessments are to help prevent work-related illnesses, injuries and the spread of disease or infection. They refer to a variety of processes undertaken by organisations to health screen volunteers to assess whether they are capable and fit to undertake a role.
REFERENCING AND WORK HISTORY
All organisations have a duty of care to both volunteers and clients to ensure that all reasonable checks are undertaken for any given role. Work history and reference checks allow organisations to verify information already provided by an individual as part of their application.
OVERSEAS CRIMINAL CHECK
Volunteers that have spent more than 6 months overseas during the last 5 years may need to conduct overseas police checks in accordance with that country’s justice system and UK requirements.
